Quicktime Pro Mpeg4 32k audio compression settings

Open quicktime (6.5 or newer) and verify that quicktime pro is installed.

1) Choose File > Open Movie in New Player

2) Choose File > Export

3) On Export menu (bottom) select Movie to MPEG-4

4) Use: Modem - Audio only

5) Select Options, choose the Audio tab

6) Changed bit rate to 32k with slider

7) Change channels to mono

8) Sample rate to 32.0k

9) Encoding quality Best

10) Select Streaming tab

11) Hinting type: Streaming (optimized for server)

!2) Click OK

13) Enter file name, choose save location

14) Click on the Save button

Test and upload the file to the server. Url is the same as a quicktime movie except the extension (i.e. rtsp://qt1.streamreal.org/indigenous/yourmovie.mp4). I will send you an expanded tutorial with the batch processing script as well as the creation of the pointer files for qt, real and win media.
