Cleaner 6 for Mac 56k Quicktime streaming settings 1) Launch Cleaner 2) Select File > New > save name (i.e. session1) 3) Select Batch > Add Files (cmd+o) > choose source file(s) 4) Highlight source file(s) 5) Right click on file(s) select advanced options, or choose cmd+t 6) Select Quicktime > NTSC (clicking on it will expand the menu) 7) Choose 'SV3NTSC modem streaming' 8) Choose Duplicate > Name Settings Profile (i.e. JT 56k) 9) Output Tab - default settings (.mov file suffix and prepare ('hint') for streaming server is the important thing here) 10) Tracks Tab - default settings video - process audio - process MPEG - process (depends on source file) 11) Image Tab crop - numeric (dependent on the source file - generally 4 pixels all the way around - more if source was analog video) image size - 160 x 120 4:3 proportions deinterlace - auto sharpen - radius 1.5, amount 50 adaptive noise reduction - mild (unless poor source quality) 12) Adjust Tab - depends on source material 13) Encode Tab codec - Sorenson Video 3 Compressor bit depth - Millions of colors spatial quality - 60 frame rate - 5 (or 7.5 for very low motion source material) video data rate - 2-pass VBR, limit 28 kbits/sec, peak 36 options - Video 3 Pro (if installed) bi-directional prediction - Allow automatic keyframes - check box, 40 minimum quality option - 15 drop frames to maintain data rate - check box 14) Audio Tab codec - QDesign Music 2 depth - 16bit sample rate 22.050 data rate 12 kbits/sec channels - mono volume - normalize 92-94% low pass - suppress above 8khz high pass - suppress below 50 hz 15) Begin/End - as needed to adjust the in and out point 16) Alternate connection - 56k Modem quicktime version - 5 17) Meta Data - as you like 18) Summary - look over the settings and make sure they correlate to the settings listed above 19) Choose Save 20) Click Apply 21) Select the play icon at the bottom of the batch dialog box 22) THis will bring up a file location window. Choose the location to save the compressed QT movie (note: for batch processing first got to Batch > Set Default Location and enter desired location for compressed material). 23) When you have achieved satisfactory results with the test file (you may need to adjust the volumn settings, etc.) run a batch (drag and drop all of the session files from a folder, highlight all and compress).
